Summer 2025 Master Teacher of Entrepreneurship

THE APPLICATION FOR SUMMER 2025 WILL OPEN ON 4/1/25.

Description: In addition to improving teaching skills, the Master Teacher of Entrepreneurship (MTEnt) course improves a teacher’s ability and practice of being a good critical thinker. MTEnts will have more ability and confidence to empower their students’ critical thinking capacity to make better choices as they create and pursue economic opportunities. Successful MTEnts will understand why entrepreneurship education is valuable for all students and learn how to present the content in an engaging manner; learn how to mentor students in the process of developing, testing, and launching a business idea; recognize good entrepreneurship informational text; and improve in structuring learning experiences. The MTEnt was developed to be an example that teachers could replicate in their classrooms to meet best practices in engaging students to integrate critical thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset in their lives.

For: The MTEnt program has been designed for teachers of the following grade levels:

• 6-8 
• 9-12

*Acceptance is not guaranteed. 

*No elementary level teachers will be accepted to this program.

Where: The MTEnt is an online course (estimated 75 hours).

When: June 4, 2025 - July 14, 2025

• Synchronous- Orientation; Virtual via Zoom- Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 9:00am-12:00pm**
• Asynchronous- Assignments completed by July 14, 2025

**Attendance and full participation in orientation with your camera ON is required. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Requirements:

• Submit online application
• Agreement to cancellation policy (applications without this will not be reviewed)
• If accepted, a contract will be provided to you and your principal to sign prior to orientation.
• Attendance and full participation in the Virtual Orientation Session with your camera on
• Web-connected device (e.g., computer, tablet)
• Ability to download and upload documents
• Microphone and camera

Commitment: Our sponsors strongly believe in the importance of providing high quality entrepreneurship instruction to Mississippi students. Their support is provided with the expectation that you will work to incorporate what you learn in your classroom. Teachers will be surveyed at the end of the school year for documentation of implementation in their classroom.

Benefits: Teachers accepted to the program who successfully complete the course will be provided with the following within 30 days of the course completion date: 

• 7.5 CEUs
• Access to student course shell
• $250 stipend. Payable only to eligible teachers. See payment schedule below.
• 915 entrepreneurship endorsement on license (Click here to see qualifications)

*Payment Schedule: 

• Teachers that successfully complete the MTEnt program will receive $100 within 30 days of the last day of the program.
• Teachers will receive an additional $150 within 30 days after the teacher has submitted their implementation survey.

MCEE Cancellation Policy for MTEnt: MCEE is now implementing a policy to collect credit card billing information in advance to collect the cancellation fee in the event that this policy is violated. If teachers that accept their seat in the program by submitting the provided contract, attend orientation and complete the program, the card will never be charged. However, teachers that do not attend orientation or complete the program by the designated end date will be charged $250 and dropped from the program.

Academic Integrity Policy for the Master Teacher Programs of Economics, Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship and College and Career Readiness

Effective Date: November 1, 2024

Overview

Academic integrity is a cornerstone of this online course, essential for maintaining the value of the learning experience and the credibility of the Mississippi Council on Economic Education. This policy outlines expectations for ethical conduct, including specific guidelines on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and plagiarism. Violations of this policy will result in severe consequences to underscore the commitment to academic honesty.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including but not limited to AI-based writing assistance, code generation, or problem-solving software, is only permitted under the specific conditions outlined in each assignment. AI tools should not be used to complete assignments, exams, or any assessed work unless explicitly permitted by the instructor. In cases where AI tools are allowed, students must disclose any use in their submissions, providing details of the specific tools used and the extent of assistance received.

Unauthorized use of AI tools will be treated as academic misconduct. Students are encouraged to seek guidance from their instructor if they have any questions about acceptable use.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism, defined as presenting someone else's words, ideas, or work as one’s own without proper attribution, is strictly prohibited in this course. All submissions must be original or properly cited, with references to all sources and contributions. Examples of plagiarism include, but are not limited to:

· Submitting work done by another person as your own

· Copying and pasting text from external sources without citation

· Paraphrasing ideas from a source without appropriate acknowledgment

Students are expected to adhere to proper citation formats and are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools prior to submission if they are uncertain about their work.

Consequences for Violations

Academic integrity violations, including unauthorized use of AI and plagiarism, will result in the following penalties:

1. Automatic Expulsion from the Course: Students found in violation will be removed from the course with no option for re-enrollment.

2. Non-Completion Fee: The $250 non-completion fee will be assessed to the student’s account.

Students who wish to appeal these consequences may do so following the Mississippi Council on Economic Education standard academic appeal procedures; however, appeals will only be considered in cases with compelling evidence of a misunderstanding or error.

By enrolling in this course, students agree to uphold these standards and conduct themselves with honesty, respect, and integrity. Questions regarding academic integrity and course expectations are always welcome, and students are encouraged to seek clarification to avoid unintentional violations.
